Rabbi
Jonathan Hecht
After serving as a congregational rabbi for 25 years on Long Island, NY, I moved to Cincinnati, OH, where I served as the Dean of the Cincinnati Campus of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. In 2024-25, I served as Interim Rabbi at Temple Har Shalom in Park City, Utah. And then, in 2025-26, I was the Interim Senior Rabbi at Congregation Bnai Jehoshua Beth Elohim (BJBE) in Deerfield, IL. The photos, videos, sermons, and writings on this website come mostly from my work on the pulpit. I have added a video of a sermon I gave at HUC during our Convocation ceremony.
I bring a deep knowledge of Judaism, Jewish History, Mysticism, Ethics, Israel, and Ritual to every encounter that I have. Whether it is teaching from the pulpit or in a classroom, working with wedding couples or officiating at baby namings, comforting those in need or hitting balls on the golf course, I am connecting Jews with Torah wherever I go!
I invite you to browse my photo gallery, read some of my sermons, and view some videos, to get a better sense of the things I have done.
